Lewis Hamilton 'in talks with Jay-Z's label about starting music career'
March 1, 2015
Lewis Hamilton is reportedly set to launch a pop career and is believed to be in discussions with Jay-Z’s record label about releasing some of his work.
The Sun claims that the Formula One champion, who posts regular pictures of himself in the studio, “is in talks with Jay Z's Roc Nation about releasing some of the many tracks he's recorded with a plethora of top producers.”
One of the said producers is Rodney Jerkins, who has worked with Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson, and Hamilton could be his most unlikely collaboration if the reports are correct.
Roc Nation is the home to such stars as Rihanna, Kanye West and Rita Ora, and Hamilton, it seems, could soon join them in releasing work on the label.
“Lewis has been talking to a few music industry figures about his music, including Jay Z's Roc Nation team,” a so-called ‘source' told The Sun.
“It's early days but it looks more and more likely that he will release some of the songs.
“Lewis spends a lot of time in the studio, works with big name collaborators and takes it all seriously. Formula One is still his number one priority but don't be surprised if Lewis tries for a pop career, too.”
Hamilton only recently tweeted to tell his fans that the studio is his "fortress of solitude" and it seems he is going to spend much more time crafting his music.
