The man behind Herve Leger’s signature dress has angered women left, right and centre by listing all of the types of women he believes shouldn’t wear the bandage frock. It includes almost every type of female. Whatever happened to fashion being for everyone?
Patrick Couderc, the UK managing director of the high-end fashion house owned by the BCBG Max Azria Group relayed his offensive list to the Daily Mail, insisting that “voluptuous” women and lesbians should steer clear of the form-fitting frock.
Other offenders on Couderc’s merciless list include women with “very prominent hips and a very flat chest” and older women who insist on “displaying everything like you’re 23.”
So, just to be clear, Courderc is saying that only heterosexual, young and stick thin women with massive boobs should wear the dress. Oh, and it rings it at around £1,300 so most young, slim, straight and big-boobed women wouldn’t be able to afford it anyway.
We’re not sure how this is helping boost Herve Leger’s trade.
